Easter Egg Fun

We always dye eggs for a fun Easter time craft, and this year we turned our eggs into bunnies, chicks, and carrots. So here goes if you want to make this fun and easy project.

First you need a cool, dry hard boiled egg.

Step 2: orange, yellow dyes, and a sharpie marker.

Step 3: tissue paper in orange, green and white.

Ella Kate wanted to make the carrot. She first dyed her egg in the orange and then cut strips in the fan folded green tissue paper and taped it on to her dry orange egg. And Viola! A carrot.

Gracie and Anna Beth wanted to make chicks. So first Gracie dyed her egg yellow. Then she used the sharpie to dot two tiny eyes on the narrow end of the egg. Then cut a small diamond shape out of the orange, and cut two wing shapes as well. Fold the diamond shape in half and tape it in place below the eyes. Next, tape the two wings to the sides. There you have it a chick.

And then she added the wings.

And for the bunny I cut two ears out of white tissue paper and two inner ears out of one layer of orange...made it look peach or beige. Then I taped everything in place and drew on the face. For the nose I cut a small triangle of orange and there you have it a bunny.
